CHARACTER COUNTS! wraps up busy school year

United Way of Martin County’s CHARACTER COUNTS! program recently wrapped up it’s Student of the Week initiative that recognized 30 kindergarten through 12th grade students from Martin County schools and Boys & Girls Clubs branches.

Each winner was selected by their teachers for demonstrating one or more of the six Pillars of Character – Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship – during the 2009-10 school year.

With the support of Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers and The Lyric Theatre, each winner was awarded a Student of the Week certificate, CHARACTER COUNTS! bracelet, recognition in The Stuart News School Digest, and four tickets for their family to attend a performance at The Lyric Theatre.
