Players
supporting CHARACTER COUNTS! in
Martin County had a day full of
enjoyment, contests and prizes at
the annual Tee It Up for Character
Charity Golf Tournament April 24 at
Monarch Country Club.
The tournament
is the one-and-only fund-raiser for
the CHARACTER COUNTS! program, which
provides character-building
activities in schools, civic
organizations and businesses.
This
year, the event netted about $23,000
thanks to sponsors, auction bidders
and a record 144 players.

Joe Kordick Youth
Character Awards 2007-08
The Joe Kordick Youth Character
Awards were presented Jan. 30, 2008, honoring middle and
high school students whose lives demonstrate an enduring
commitment to good character.
The annual awards are named after
the late Joe Kordick, founding chairman of CHARACTER
COUNTS! in Martin County, who left a legacy to sponsor
the awards.

Pillar of Character Awards
Each year, CHARACTER COUNTS! give
the Pillar of Character Awards to six outstanding
community members. Colleagues and employers nominate
workers who they think exemplify the
Six Pillars of Character.
CC! established this award because many
employees have strong values and go above and beyond their job
description on a daily basis and never receive recognition.
