Herding cats? CHARACTER COUNTS! offers help
Help is here for bewildered business
people trying to keep workers pointed in the right
direction: CHARACTER COUNTS!, a program of the United Way of
Martin County, is presenting “Herding Cats Is Not
Impossible.”
This business forum will offer advice
on how to maximize the productivity of every employee and
minimize the time lost to personality issues.
The forum will be held 8 a.m. to noon
on Oct. 20 at the Wolf High-Technology Center, IRCC Chastain
Campus, Salerno Road, Stuart. The cost is $49 per person and
includes materials and a continental breakfast.
Seating is limited, so please register
now by contacting Terri May at (772) 283-4800, ext. 234, or
tmay@unitedwaymartincounty.org.
The forum will be led by guest speaker
Jones Loflin, who draws on skills honed as a business owner
and educator to deliver an insightful program. He engages
the audience with humor while educating participants on
being more successful with less-than-cooperative people.
“Jones
has a unique ability to deliver thought-provoking
information that will make an impact on everyone in the
audience,” said CHARACTER COUNTS! director Terri May. “This
will be an exceptional presentation.”
Topics addressed include:
-
Using the strength of each cat’s
personality to best accomplish a project.
-
Keeping a cat from becoming
distracted or wandering too far from the herd.
-
Rewarding cats so they keep coming
back instead of looking for a new home.
-
Recognizing behaviors that paralyze
a cat or send them scurrying away.
Jones Loflin is co-author of the book,
“Juggling Elephants? Be the Ringmaster of Your Work and
Life.” Samples of his work is available at his Web site,
www.jonesloflin.com.
CHARACTER COUNTS!, now in its tenth
year in Martin County, provides character-building
activities and projects in schools and civic organizations.
CC! presents motivational business seminars and works to
increase public awareness of the importance of core ethical
values.
