Play CHARACTER COUNTS! tourney

Press release: March 2, 2006
[ENTRY FORM in PDF]

CHARACTER COUNTS! is calling all good sports for the fourth annual “Tee It Up for Character” golf tournament.

Players and sponsors are needed to support the one-and-only fund-raiser for the CHARACTER COUNTS! program in Martin County.

The tournament will be played at Monarch Country Club on Thursday, April 27. The scramble will begin at 1 p.m. and will be followed by a buffet, awards ceremony and auction. Golf packages to be auctioned include rounds at Jupiter Island Club, The Medalist, Loblolly, Harbour Ridge, Mariner Sands and Willoughby Club.

Stuart News columnist Ray McNulty, who recently covered the Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy, will be leaving the ice and hitting the greens in support of CHARACTER COUNTS!  A corporate sponsorship of $3,000 is available for a foursome to play the tourney with Ray. Other sponsorship opportunities are available, including the chance to be a tee sponsor for $100.

The entry fee is $125 per player, which includes the dinner buffet and goodie bags. Each participant also will receive a free future round of golf at Monarch and a 2006 Enjoyment Dining Out book.

Please call CHARACTER COUNTS! director Terri May at (772) 283-4800, ext. 234, for information about sponsorships or registration. Registration forms also are available online at www.charactercounts.net.

“For 10 years CHARACTER COUNTS! has provided character-building activities in schools, civic organizations and businesses, encouraging sportsmanship and increasing public awareness of the importance of core ethical values,” Ms. May said. “This golf fund-raiser will help to ensure these activities continue.”
