The Shared Services
Network of Martin County is inviting
community leaders and concerned citizens
to a town hall meeting about combating
underage alcohol use.
The town hall
meeting, “Environmental Factors
Contributing to Underage Alcohol Use,”
will be held 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. April 23
at the Wolf High Technology Center at
Indian River Community College Chastain
Campus, 2400 SE Salerno Road, Stuart.
The keynote speaker
will be Kathleen Lenk, a coordinator in
the Division of Epidemiology and
Community Health, School of Public
Health, University of Minnesota.
Also on the agenda:

Martin County
Sheriff Robert Crowder will speak
about the Shared Services Network
Community Collaboration.

Robyn Vanover,
coordinator of Martin County Safe &
Drug-Free Schools, will provide an
overview of local youth substance
use statistics.

Dr. Sara
Pankaskie will provide an overview
of the Martin County SARG project
(Substance Abuse Response Guide).
The meeting is
sponsored by members of Shared Services
Network of Martin County, including the
Children’s Services Council of Martin
County, United Way of Martin County, the
Martin County School District, MADD,
Project Northland and CHARACTER COUNTS!
of Martin County.
This meeting is for
community leaders, elected officials,
agency personnel, educators, parents and
all concerned citizens. High school and
middle school students are also welcome
to attend.
The program is
approved for two Continuing Education
Units for nursing, LCSW, LMFT, LMHC,
Psy.D., Ph.D. and school psychologists.
Refreshments will
be served.
