The United Way
of Martin County Foundation
Charitable Gift Annuity
The United Way of Martin County launched a Charitable Gift Annuity Program in
March 2004.
A charitable gift annuity is a contract between a donor and United Way. In exchange for a gift of $10,000 or more, the donor receives a guaranteed fixed payment every year for the rest of his or her life. When the donor dies, the amount remaining goes to the United Way of Martin County or designated United Way agency.
Gift annuity rates are determined by the age of the donor and if the annuity is for one or two people. The older the individual, the higher the rate.
Gift annuity payments can be a way to generate more usable income than individuals are currently receiving from some of their investments.
In addition to the increased income, our donors have the
satisfaction of helping people in need. It’s a win-win situation
for donors and United Way.
