The
United Way
of Martin County Foundation
Ways to Give
Following are many of the ways you can continue to help others through
planned giving.
Bequests in a will
Naming the United Way of Martin County in your will is one of the
easiest ways to make a lasting expression of your charitable concern.
Bequests may be in the form of a stated dollar amount, property, or the
percentage or the residual of an estate.

Charitable gift annuity
-
A charitable gift annuity is a simple contract between you and United
Way. Your contribution of cash or marketable securities goes to the United Way.
United Way pays you a guaranteed income for life. Upon your death, the annuity
balance remains with United Way.

Charitable remainder trusts
You create a trust that generates income for you (and other
beneficiaries of you choosing). The income can be paid over a period of
years or over a lifetime. At the end of the designated period, the remaining
trust assets pass to United Way.

Life insurance
Life insurance is another simple way to make a lasting gift to United
Way. Examples: You can name United Way as the beneficiary of an existing
policy; you can purchase a new policy for the benefit of United Way; or you
can give a paid-up policy you already own to United Way.
Retirement plans
Individuals may choose to name United Way as the beneficiary of their
retirement plans.
Immediate Gifts
You may choose to make an immediate gift to United Way. Immediate gifts
can be made in the form of cash, check, credit card, stock, securities, real
estate and other property.
Planned Giving
-
United
Way of America has a planned giving site that features several types
of plans.
