Special Funds

DICK SCHWINKENDORF

The United Way of Martin County Foundation has set up a special Dick Schwinkendorf Memorial Fund.

The fund was established in August 2005, after the passing of one of United Way's most dedicated donors and volunteers. He was best known for his leadership role in the White Doves Holiday Project, for which he was the volunteer warehouse manager for six years.

DUNBAR CENTER

The board of directors of Dunbar Center has established a scholarship fund at the United Way of Martin County Foundation as a tribute to Mary Jane Bauer, one of the founders of Dunbar Center.

The "Imagine the Possibilities" Fund has been established to honor the legacy of this extraordinary woman. Youths who attended child care at Dunbar Center will be able to tap this special scholarship to pursue higher education as they graduate from high school.

HOPE RURAL SCHOOL

The board of directors of Hope Rural School has established a special fund at the United Way of Martin County Foundation as a tribute to Sister Marie Celeste Gatti, who retired in February 2004 at age 80 after serving 18 years at the small Catholic school in Indiantown.

Donations to the Sister Marie Celeste Gatti "Builder of Hope" Fund will provide an additional source of income for Hope Rural School that will be used to nurture future generations of children and families in Indiantown.
