Kenneth Hyde
The Legacy Society recognizes and honors people who have made contributions to the
United Way of Martin County Foundation.
Ken Hyde of Jensen Beach was one of the
first donors to take advantage of the
Charitable Gift Annuity Program at the United Way of Martin
County.
Through the years, this former insurance
salesman supported several charities and in 2004, he decided to
consolidate his donations. “I wanted to benefit a local charity
and selected Hibiscus Children’s Center, a United Way agency,”
he said.
At 83, the young-at-heart widower,
established a Charitable Gift Annuity through United Way that
will pay 8.8% for the remainder of his life. Upon his passing,
Hibiscus Children’s Center will be the beneficiary.
“This has been a great deal for me,” he
said. “I receive a monthly check from United Way, a generous tax
deduction and more important, I am leaving a legacy that will
help abused and neglected children.” |
