OUR MISSION

To improve the quality of life for the people of Martin County through the development and stewardship of assets maintained by the United Way of Martin County Foundation.

The United Way of Martin County Foundation is a 501(C)(3) public charity, designed to provide an endowment fund to assure the mission of the United Way of Martin County is achieved for current and future generations

The endowment funds raised and managed by the Foundation increase the United Way’s ability to meet changing and emerging needs of our children, families, elderly and all residents of our community.

The Foundation provides a vehicle for United Way supporters to assure, either posthumously or during their lifetimes, their United Way will continue to provide long-lasting support for the many organizations which make Martin County the wonderful and supportive community it is..

Most of us give time, talent and treasures to charitable organizations throughout our lives. We experience the joy that comes from giving to a charity that puts our values and priorities into action. Many of us have our personal reasons for charitable giving while we are living; but statistics show that only a few of us have thought about making a charitable gift that will leave a legacy long after we are gone.

  • 70 percent of the U.S. population gives to charities annually.

  • Only 6 percent leave gifts to charity through their wills and estates.

  • Over the next 40 years, an estimated $41 trillion  will pass from one generation to another.

The magnitude of this wealth will exceed what most people believe is necessary to provide for their children after they die. They will have enough wealth to take care of loved ones and make charitable donations.

There are several ways to give to the United Way of Martin County Foundation. Please consider some of the following and read more about them:

  • Bequests in a will

  • Charitable gift annuities (CGA)

  • Charitable remainder trusts

  • Life insurance

  • Retirement plans (IRA Charitable Rollover)

  • Immediate gifts

  • Planned giving
