The Merrill Lynch
office in Stuart organized its first-ever
Bull Run 5K Run/Walk on June 3, raising
$3,500 to benefit United Way of Martin
County.
There were 128
finishers in the 3.1-mile race, which began
and ended near the Merrill Lynch office on
Monterey Road.
“I think it was a huge
success for the first try,” said Jeff Teach,
senior financial advisor at Merrill Lynch.
“I look forward to many years of the
partnership.”
Merrill Lynch worked
with the Sailfish Striders Running Club of
Stuart to conduct the race. Trophies and
medals were given to individual runners in
each age group.
The overall winner was
Robert Barber, 22, of Port St. Lucie, who
finished in 18 minutes and 21 seconds. The
overall female winner was Michelle Weiler,
32, of Palm City, whose time was 20:32.
The race also featured
a corporate team competition. The team
winners were as follows:
