United Way of Martin County will
hold a free Community Leaders Golf Outing on Aug. 17 at
Martin Downs Country Club.
Players are sought for the outing,
which is being sponsored by Pirtle Construction Co.
Lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m.;
golf begins at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start.
The event is part of United Way’s
observance of its 35th anniversary in Martin County.
Business and community leaders were instrumental in
founding the organization, and United Way is seeking to
promote that tradition. The golf outing was arranged as
a unique way to connect business and community leaders
of the past, present and future.
The host of the outing is Martin
Downs Country Club, which has two championship golf
courses boasting 36 newly refurbished greens. The club,
in Palm City, is also home of the Honda Classic
pre-qualifier event.
