sponsoring the third annual Bull Run 5K Run/Walk to
benefit United Way.
The
3.1-mile race will begin at 8 a.m. April 19, with
race-day registration starting at 7 a.m. The start
and finish lines are near the Merrill Lynch office
at 2301 SE Monterey Road, Stuart.
The entry fee is $20 before
April 14; afterward it is $25. The first 100
entrants receive a free race T-shirt.
Entry forms are available
online at
www.unitedwaymartincounty.org or by calling Jeff
Teach at Merrill Lynch at (772) 223-6708. Forms also
are available at Fleet Feet, 2440 NW Federal
Highway, Stuart.
Individual runners and corporate teams are
encouraged to enter.
“Our intent is to instill a
corporate camaraderie within the Martin County area,
as well as have individuals come and run or walk for
fun,” Mr. Teach said. “Merrill Lynch takes pride in
helping the community in spirit as well as helping
to fulfill financial needs. To that end, we will
donate the proceeds of the Bull Run to United Way.”
Merrill Lynch is working with
the Sailfish Striders Running Club of Stuart (www.sailfishstriders.com)
to conduct the race.
Individual runners will compete
in age groups. Corporate teams must include at least
four runners – all male, all female or male/female
teams. Trophies will be given for each division,
individual runners and corporate teams.
The
first Bull Run in this area – held June 3, 2006 –
had 128 finishers and raised $3,500 to benefit
United Way of Martin County. The second Bull Run --
on April 21, 2007 -- had 118 finishers and netted
about $5,000.
Merrill Lynch and United Way
welcome sponsors and runners to help boost the
proceeds for this year’s Bull Run. Please contact
Jeff Teach (772) 223-6708 for information.
