Summer Meals Fill Kids' Plates, Minds in Martin County

Thanks to your support to help end hunger, United Way is filling kids' plates and minds this summer by offering free learning and literacy resources at select local summer meal sites.

While lunch is served, families can also engage in fun reading activities and learn how improving literacy prepares children for success in school. Know a friend, neighbor, or child who may benefit from Summer Meal sites? Share program locations here or dial 2-1-1.

Advancing the common good in Martin County

The United Way of Martin County Board of Directors and staff recently shared an exercise to deeply explore their personal vision and motivation for helping the community.

That discussion expanded with a series of Community Conversations, engaging 150 participants from business, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, United Way Board members, staff, parents and community volunteers. The result was six priority areas with clear strategies and measurements: End Hunger; Strengthen Families; Health; Education; Jobs; and Ensure Safety.
